I got an early christmas present yesterday, well gave it to myself really but I'm very satisfied with it so far. The present would be a Nikon D50 digital SLR camera with an AF DX zoom 18-55mm and an AF 80-210mm lens and a tripod of course. For those of you who don't know what any of that means, like me up until a few days ago ... A druggy would say: "it's good shit!"

I really needed some decent equipment to get my love for photography back. It feels so much better being in full control of your camera and having a lot more options for experimenting. I've already uploaded a few shots but I'm sure many many more will follow. My next step will be expanding my horizons with some new areas, besides nature or simple still life shots. I'm experimenting with light at the moment and have some ideas for a few more abstract pictures but I'll have to wait until it's dark to get started.

After that I'm still hoping to get some experience in shooting people as well .. I'd love to hold some photoshoots and work with models. Most likely I'll just mess around with some friends/volunteers some time in the future, if I can find myself a place to work that is.

But for now ... *snap* *snap* *snap snap snap*

*gets triggerhappy with his camera*
